Day By Day Activities

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport and Transfer to Jinja
We hope you arrive at Entebbe International Airport during daylight hours. Once you land, you’ll clear Immigration, collect your luggage, and meet your English-speaking tour guide. They’ll warmly welcome you to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, and transfer you to Jinja, where the Nile begins. Along the way, enjoy sights such as the vibrant Namawojolo roadside market, Mabira Forest, and sprawling tea and sugarcane plantations. Upon reaching Jinja, check in to your accommodation and relax at your leisure.

Day 2: Activities in Jinja and Transfer to Sipi Falls area in Kapchorwa
This morning, you’re free to select an activity that excites you. For adventure lovers, kick off your safari with an exhilarating Nile experience—choose from white-water rafting, tubing, bungee jumping, or horse riding, all available for an additional fee. No prior experience is required for these thrilling activities on the Nile. If water sports aren’t your preference, try quad biking or mountain biking through the picturesque countryside, also available at an extra cost. After exploring Jinja, we’ll transfer you to the Sipi Area-Kapchorwa. Check in and enjoy a relaxing evening at your leisure.

Day 3: Sipi Falls Experience and Nature walks
After breakfast, set out to explore the stunning Sipi Falls. This approximately 3-hour hike takes you to a series of three impressive waterfalls, offering breathtaking views and a memorable excursion. In the afternoon, enjoy a coffee tour where you’ll learn about the journey of coffee from seed to cup. This informative experience is a must for coffee enthusiasts. Later, unwind at your accommodation, taking in the spectacular views of Sipi Falls right from your room.

Day 4: Transfer to Moroto and immerse yourself in the Indigenous community & Tepeth people
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a scenic transfer to Moroto via Soroti. Moroto, nestled at the base of the majestic Mt. Moroto amidst expansive savannah plains, provides a unique glimpse into Uganda’s Indigenous community & Tepeth people. Expected arrival is around 12 or 1 p.m. Following check-in at the camp and a lunch break, we’ll visit the Tepeth people. Known as hunters-gatherers and the original inhabitants of Karamoja, the Tepeth moved to the highlands when the nomadic Karamojong arrived. This visit promises a fascinating insight into their traditional way of life.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo NP and Evening Game drive
Depart early around 6 a.m. for Kidepo Valley National Park, arriving in time for a rest and lunch before heading out for game viewing. Explore Narus Valley in the southern part of the park, known for its savannah grasslands and acacia woodlands. This area, with its year-round water sources, attracts a variety of wildlife. Look out for large herds of buffalo, elephants, zebras, antelopes, lions, and elusive leopards. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Visit to Karamojong Communities
After breakfast, set out on a sunrise game drive for a chance to spot wildlife such as lions, buffalo herds, elephants, zebras, and possibly an elusive leopard. Return to the lodge for lunch and some afternoon relaxation. Later, visit the Karamojong community for a cultural encounter, spending the afternoon and evening learning about their traditional way of life and beliefs. Enjoy dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 7: Transfer to Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest park, where you can witness the dramatic Murchison Falls and explore the vast savannah plains teeming with lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffaloes, and elephants. If time permits, stop at Aruu Falls near Kitgum, a picturesque waterfall on the Awoja River known for its powerful cascades and tranquil pools set amidst lush greenery—perfect for relaxation and photos. Additionally, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which focuses on the protection and rehabilitation of endangered rhinos. The sanctuary offers guided tours for a close-up view of these majestic animals and plays a crucial role in broader wildlife conservation efforts.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
After breakfast, you’ll set off on an early morning game drive through Uganda’s largest national park. Return to the lodge for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, and various water birds. For a memorable experience, you can hike to the top of the falls. Though the hike can be challenging, the view is well worth it. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll transfer to the edge of Kibale Forest National Park for an overnight stay. The drive, though long, is incredibly scenic, taking you through vibrant villages, lush green countryside, and rolling hills dotted with tea plantations. The stunning views will captivate you throughout the journey. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation and unwind. If time and energy permit, you might opt for a crater lakes excursion (at an extra cost), where you can marvel at the picturesque small lakes nestled among gentle hills and enjoy panoramic views. Alternatively, you can simply relax at the facility.

Day 10: Bigodi Wetlands Excursion and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
After breakfast, head out for an excursion to the Bigodi Wetlands. This rich habitat is home to diverse wildlife, including black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and baboons. It’s also a birdwatcher’s paradise. *Optional (extra cost $230 pp): Instead of Bigodi, you can choose to go chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, but note that permits must be arranged in advance. After exploring Bigodi or Kibale, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a journey of about 2 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll have time for a game drive, where you might spot lions, elusive leopards, elephants, and buffaloes among other wildlife.

Day 11: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Safari along Kazinga Channel
Rise early and enjoy breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Watch for Cape buffaloes, herds of elephants, and if you’re lucky, lions and elusive leopards. Return to your accommodation for some rest and lunch. Afterward, embark on a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, which links Lakes George and Edward. This scenic trip offers views of giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, and you’ll also spot a variety of bird species along the water’s edge. *Following the boat trip, you can choose to either return to the lodge to relax or take a brief late afternoon game drive before heading back to the lodge.

Day 12: Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable NP
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before traveling to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. While there’s a 60-70% chance of spotting these unique lions, they can be elusive when on the ground hunting. If seen in the trees, the view is both stunning and memorable. After exploring Ishasha, continue to your accommodation near the edge of Bwindi National Park. Upon arrival, you can relax at the lodge or, at an extra cost, join a late afternoon cultural experience. This includes local community dances and participation in traditional activities such as cooking and weaving.

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast, head to the rangers’ post for a briefing on the guidelines for gorilla trekking. Then, venture into the forest for your adventure. The rainforest is stunning with its dramatic, steep terrain and dense foliage, interspersed with animal trails for easier access. The trek can take 4-8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you find a gorilla group, you’ll spend an hour with these majestic yet endangered creatures—an experience you won’t forget. Return to your accommodation to rest after the trek.
Optional (extra cost): If you finish early and have the energy, you can ask your guide to arrange a community visit or a short nature walk.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo NP and Evening Game Drive
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Lake Mburo National Park. This compact gem, conveniently located near the highway connecting Entebbe/Kampala with western Uganda, is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks but teems with wildlife. Home to diverse bird species and animals such as giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and the elusive leopard, Mburo offers unique experiences. Upon arrival, check in and relax before setting out for a late afternoon game drive to encounter the park’s wildlife up close. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 15: Morning Game Drive and Boat safari
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. As the sun rises, venture into the park’s savannah landscapes and woodlands, where you’ll have the chance to spot diverse wildlife including giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and possibly the elusive leopard. The cool morning hours are ideal for observing animals as they are more active and feeding.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This serene lake offers a different perspective of the park’s wildlife. From the boat, you can view hippos lounging in the water, crocodiles sunbathing on the banks, and a variety of bird species like fish eagles and kingfishers. The cruise provides excellent opportunities for photography and offers a peaceful way to appreciate the park’s natural beauty.

Day 16: Transfer back to Kampala
After your stay at Lake Mburo National Park, start your journey back to Kampala with a scenic detour. First, visit the Igongo Cultural Center, which offers a rich experience of Uganda’s cultural heritage. Here, you can explore traditional artifacts, learn about local customs, and enjoy a meal featuring traditional Ugandan cuisine.

Next, stop at the Kayabwe Equator Crossing, where you can stand on the equatorial line and experience the unique water flow demonstrations that highlight the division of the Earth’s hemispheres. This iconic landmark provides a perfect photo opportunity and a chance to purchase souvenirs.

Continue your drive back to Kampala, reflecting on the diverse experiences from your trip, from wildlife encounters to cultural insights. This journey combines natural beauty, cultural exploration, and memorable landmarks before concluding in the vibrant capital city.

Day 17: Kampala City tour, Rest and Leisure
Explore Kampala with a tour that blends history, culture, and city life. Start at the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and royal resting place with traditional Ganda architecture. Next, visit Namirembe Cathedral for its historic charm and city views.

Experience the bustling Owino Market, perfect for tasting Ugandan street food and seeing local life. Then, delve into Uganda’s heritage at the Uganda Museum with its exhibits on archaeology and ethnography.

If you have time, check out Makerere University, a renowned institution with a rich history. End your tour in the lively city center, where you can enjoy local cafes, shops, and the vibrant energy of Kampala. This tour offers a rich look at Kampala’s cultural and historical tapestry.

Day 18: Transfer to Entebbe Airport
Depending on your flight departure time, take the opportunity to explore the charming town of Entebbe. Wander through its picturesque streets, visit local markets, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture. Delight in a variety of cuisines at local restaurants, where you can savor both traditional Ugandan dishes and international flavors. As you enjoy your culinary journey, soak in the relaxed atmosphere of this lakeside town. This delightful pause before your flight allows you to capture the essence of Entebbe, creating a memorable end to your trip.
