Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, nestled in Lake Victoria, Uganda, is a haven for orphaned eastern chimpanzees rescued by passionate conservationists. Many of these chimps were saved from poachers and cannot return to the wild. A visit to Ngamba Island is a perfect addition to your Uganda Wildlife tour offering a meaningful experience before your departure from Entebbe International Airport.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast, then head to Jett Station at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center for a scenic boat ride to Ngamba Island. The journey takes about 45-50 minutes. Once there, you’ll receive a briefing from the caregivers before enjoying the elevated viewing platform. Bird enthusiasts can also indulge in some birdwatching. After your visit, return by boat to Entebbe and enjoy extra time at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center before concluding your day with a transfer to your next destination.
